During the last two months of his life, Vincent Van Gogh painted 10 % of his work - 80 paintings and 64 drawings - in Auvers-sur-Oise .

He went beyond his limits, walking over nine miles a day carrying his material, searching for his subject, exploring all aspects of the art of painting until he eventually revolutionized it, and giving us, without his knowing it yet, an overview of what painting had in store for the 20th century. His artistic performance was so exhausting on both a physical and moral level that it led him to suicide at the age of 37.
Today, Van Gogh is recognized as the most famous painter in the world with pieces shown in thirty-two museums, three of which are among the most expensive in the world.
